The last time I posted was 5 months ago. It felt like years. I can’t even begin to explain how much I crave the excitement of traveling and the weariness that comes after!! I haven’t been on any long vacations since the year started, and I figured that since my tight schedule can no longer accommodate impromptu and yolo-ish traveling, I might as well pour all my efforts in planning my official vacation trip!
And the reason I came back after a long hiatus is because of a friend. Though, I think there’s still that part of me that really wanted to share this with you too. Thus, my farthest trip up north to date! Batanes Group of Islands.
It’s always an experience being surprised by hidden gems in places that are so familiar and so near that usually one overlooks it.
It’s supposed to be just a lunch-out with family but my brother is taking his summer classes and is required to go to one of the most Historic places in Manila: Intramuros. In Latin it means, “within the walls”, hence the nickname: “The walled City”.
It wouldn’t be jampacked “Weekend” if it’s just saturday right? So here’s the sunday sched. My previous post, was our day in Bolinao. Yup, we spent the whole day doing those touristy things and going to the beach. Chill, relax, and totally unplugging. However, the second day, still touristy I suppose, but very demanding as it required us to challenge our physical abilities. In the end, the pain was totally worth it.
“Beat the Heat” and “Summer” posts are rampant, and in the first few weeks of May, I thought that facebook might crash with the amount of uploads happening, but that’s just here I guess. I’m trying to make some excuses for forgetting to post our first summer escapade of 2014. So Here we go:
We planned it to coincide with one of my cousin’s birthday. It would be her first time, after a very long time, to go to the beach, with us! Sometimes, you can find your best girl buds inside your family. 🙂
Well that was fast. January 31st, huh, just like that. It’s all a blur. And now here we are starting another month. Just a quick recap on the first 31 days of 2014:
- I finished two (e)books; The Book Thief, Sputnik Sweetheart. Which are wonderful, brilliant at the same time heartbreaking and depressing.
- Late catching up with friends.
- Watched a political-themed play. (With my brother as one of the actors)
- Volunteer work
- Corporate Life
And here I thought it would be a long list. Well, now moving on, I tell you waking up to a new day is inevitable. We can only do so much to get through to another day, what more of another month, another year etc. But that’s not the point of this post.
Really, because I’m just here to post what the 1st of February felt like. Gloomy, Windy, and like floating in repressed emotions. Well the floating part, I meant that literally.
12 hours grueling travel by bus, van and boat. All to escape the bustling city and finally sink our toes to the beaches of Caramoan.
