Free Time

Yup, this post is not my usual adventure/ trip/ food/ place post. For some this is boring stuff, but for several people, like me, i guess, this stuff  is what makes us alive. Of course I mean books. It’s not how many you’ve already read, or what genre, or who are your favorite authors, series, stand-alone, fiction, non-fiction. Just books really. I admit, I’m a little bit of an escapist, ok maybe A LOT.

I’ve wondered how many I can read for this year, not that I’m really counting, I just realized its also good to have a goal. As of today, 2nd of May, I’ve read 12 novels, a few of them are children’s books, mostly sci-fi/ dystopian theme, so it’s not really a lot, and I feel like I’m slacking off in my readings. Here’s what I’ve finished off, in no particular order:

  • Cress
  • Book Thief
  • Sputnik Sweetheart
  • My Sister’s Keeper
  • The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
  • Bridge to Terabithia
  • Ender’s Game
  • Unbearable Lightness of Being
  • Witch Hunt
  • Divergent
  • Speaker for the Dead -> EnderSaga
  • Hollow City

And here’s what I’m currently reading:

  • Thunder
  • To Kill a Mocking Bird
  • Xenocide -> (EnderSaga 3)
  • The remains of the day
  • Sandman: Book of Dreams
  • Insurgent (mixed feelings if I’d push through with this)

There, I’ve said it, I’m a book nerd lover and there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

This Friday

It has been sometime since my last post, and believe me, a lot has happened since then. A bit of a break for me too as I think I imagine myself suffering from some kind of depression. Nevertheless, I always pick myself up after a bit of self-pity and continue to find inspiration to live this life.

Welcome March! I would like to share to you two week of my planner (almost), so I will be able to compensate for those weeks that I didn’t post.

I also intend to share my latest reading. From one of my favorite writer. 🙂

This is just an excerpt though..

” As I relax on the sofa and gaze around the room a thought hits me: This is exactly
the place I’ve been looking for forever. A little hideaway in some sinkhole somewhere.
I’d always thought of it as a secret, imaginary place, and can barely believe that it
actually exists. I close my eyes and take a breath, and like a gentle cloud the wonder of
it all settles over me.”

-Kafka on the Shore (Haruki Murakami)

Happy Weekends everyone!
