It might not be soon or it might be just around the corner. Don’t hold back. It might not be what you’re expecting but it will be nothing less.

Mula Batanes (Pt.1)

The last time I posted was 5 months ago. It felt like years. I can’t even begin to explain how much I crave the excitement of traveling and the weariness that comes after!! I haven’t been on any long vacations since the year started, and I figured that since my tight schedule can no longer accommodate impromptu and yolo-ish traveling, I might as well pour all my efforts in planning my official vacation trip!

And the reason I came back after a long hiatus is because of a friend. Though, I think there’s still that part of me that really wanted to share this with you too. Thus, my farthest trip up north to date! Batanes Group of Islands.

6 months

And the length of time between then and now did not matter, life altering decisions happened and some serious thinking and planning has been done to get here.

Still trying to get a grip of a different kind of reality than what I Imagined before. It’s no trick question, life leads us to different kinds of adventure, you just have to see it as one.

Weekend: Intramuros

It’s always an experience being surprised by hidden gems in places that are so familiar and so near that usually one overlooks it.

It’s supposed to be just a lunch-out with family but my brother is taking his summer classes and is required to go to one of the most Historic places in Manila: Intramuros. In Latin it means, “within the walls”, hence the nickname: “The walled City”.

Weekend: Jampacked Pangasinan (2)

It wouldn’t be jampacked “Weekend” if it’s just saturday right? So here’s the sunday sched. My previous post, was our day in Bolinao. Yup, we spent the whole day doing those touristy things and going to the beach. Chill, relax, and totally unplugging. However, the second day, still touristy I suppose, but very demanding as it required us to challenge our physical abilities. In the end, the pain was totally worth it.

Weekend: Jampacked Pangasinan (1)

“Beat the Heat” and “Summer” posts are rampant, and in the first few weeks of May, I thought that facebook might crash with the amount of uploads happening, but that’s just here I guess. I’m trying to make some excuses for forgetting to post our first summer escapade of 2014. So Here we go:

We planned it to coincide with one of my cousin’s birthday. It would be her first time, after a very long time, to go to the beach, with us! Sometimes, you can find your best girl buds inside your family. 🙂

Free Time

Yup, this post is not my usual adventure/ trip/ food/ place post. For some this is boring stuff, but for several people, like me, i guess, this stuff  is what makes us alive. Of course I mean books. It’s not how many you’ve already read, or what genre, or who are your favorite authors, series, stand-alone, fiction, non-fiction. Just books really. I admit, I’m a little bit of an escapist, ok maybe A LOT.

I’ve wondered how many I can read for this year, not that I’m really counting, I just realized its also good to have a goal. As of today, 2nd of May, I’ve read 12 novels, a few of them are children’s books, mostly sci-fi/ dystopian theme, so it’s not really a lot, and I feel like I’m slacking off in my readings. Here’s what I’ve finished off, in no particular order:

  • Cress
  • Book Thief
  • Sputnik Sweetheart
  • My Sister’s Keeper
  • The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
  • Bridge to Terabithia
  • Ender’s Game
  • Unbearable Lightness of Being
  • Witch Hunt
  • Divergent
  • Speaker for the Dead -> EnderSaga
  • Hollow City

And here’s what I’m currently reading:

  • Thunder
  • To Kill a Mocking Bird
  • Xenocide -> (EnderSaga 3)
  • The remains of the day
  • Sandman: Book of Dreams
  • Insurgent (mixed feelings if I’d push through with this)

There, I’ve said it, I’m a book nerd lover and there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
